Welcome to Gentle Massage for Children!
We offer education in massage therapy for children of all ages and abilities to massage therapists, parents, and medical professionals. Courses are taught by Shay Beider, M.P.H., L.M.T., and her team of specialized instructors, who developed Integrative Touch a specialized touch therapy designed for patients in a medical environment.

May 30th-June 1st, 2011

Gentle Massage for Children with Cancer:
This course introduces key concepts of touch therapy for children with cancer while examining the differences between pediatric and adult cancers. The students will learn how to safely and effectively massage children with a variety of different cancers by using new techniques, including specific massage stories to help engage children and methods by which the practitioner can include the family as a whole in the healing process.

Gentle Massage for Children with Special Healthcare Needs:

Working with children with special healthcare needs offers a unique and meaningful experience. This course provides introductory information on massage therapy for children with chronic, acute or life-limiting illness, including accommodations for children of all abilities, methods of communication and appropriate interactions with family members.

Volunteer Opportunities:
Integrative Touch for Kids works to enhance the quality of life for children with developmental disabilities, genetic conditions, cancers and other chronic, acute or life-limiting illnesses. ITK is creating a model of health and wellness that empowers children through a whole-system, whole-family approach and integrates them more fully into their families and their communities. Gentle Massage for Children is approved by the National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork (NCBTMB) as a continuing education approved provider. Shay is approved by the California Board of Registered Nursing, Provider #CEP 14474, for 16 contact hours (2-day courses) and 24 contact hours (3-day courses). Shay meets AMTA CE Requirements.
